CommScope Technologies LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer III to perform technical analyses, microwave design and path surveys for the Comsearch business unit. Perform spectrum sharing interference analyses and cost sharing studies in the 2.1/1.7 GHz bands using IQ.clearXG software and issue prior coordination notices (PCN) for multiple clients on a routine basis. Design microwave networks using microwave design software tools. Conduct path surveys in the field to verify line-of-sight objectives. Prepare and explain interference analysis reports for client and/or project manager review. Serve as liaison between client, industry consultants and internal engineering staff. Evaluate costs of microwave systems. Conduct RF Safety analysis. Understand TIA Bulletin 10-F. 30% domestic travel required.


Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related field and 2 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience. Experience must include interference analysis, microwave design and the following technologies: GSM, CDMA and HSDPA. Must possess experience with: radio frequency (RF) engineering design and tools; propagation characteristics of CDMA/LTE systems; microwave system thresholds and design criteria; microwave design software; spectrum analyzer; digital terrain maps to determine line of site of microwave path; capacity planning and routing traffic in a cost effective manner; reporting the results of a frequency coordination in terms of interference margin; and microwave system components to produce a bill of materials used in the procurement and installation of a new microwave path. Experience must involve creating Macros using Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic to streamline project processes. 30% domestic travel required.
