Job Description

We are currently recruiting a professional, experienced and organized Production Supervisor. The successful candidate will lead a team of employees on shift within a production area that manufactures cable for Copper and Fibre Optic. This role will provide Leadership to areas assigned with the goal of coordinating the work force so that the end result is the best combination of safety, quality, production, and timely delivery. This position will be based in Bray and will report to the Production Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

Team Leading

Creating a culture to achieve a positive, self-motivated, and results driven manufacturing team of approx. 20 manufacturing associates, through strong leadership. Set clear expectations of tasks, standards, and deadlines for the team. Understand and identify talent within the team, with a view to strengthening team effectiveness. Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise.


Ensure all safety rules are adhered to, accident investigation, and react and manage any situations. Full participation in Risk Assessment and ensure compliance to all statutory regulations.

Quality / Scrap

Responsible for the attainment of the highest personal standards of Quality within the team; to ensure that product produced meets or exceeds Commscope’s specifications, and will be fit for use by internal/external customers. Responsible for ensuring that levels of attention to detail within the team are maintained to the required standard, and hence ensure that Quality and Scrap levels hit targets or below.

Output / OTD

Motivate the team to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standards, and meet all customer commit dates.


Implement LEAN initiatives – Kanbans, SMED, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, VSM, Standard Work, Waste Elimination.

Skills requirements / profile

< >Degree required.Strong PC Skills - MS Office, SAP.High Level of numeracy.Manufacturing experience a strong advantage.The ability to work as part of a team is essential.Team Leader experience essential along with being comfortable operating as part of a dynamic and diverse cross functional team.Good planning skills required as well as experience working to tight deadlines.Lean experience advantageous.Understand the need to work within procedures and systems where necessary.Be open to the process of Continual Improvement in their role.A good level of spoken English.
