We are currently looking for a Drafter/Designer/MCAD Technician to join our team in Greensboro, NC.


The Designer provides support to product and development engineering team members by developing new products based on new opportunities and maintains existing products through the product life cycle by supporting engineering change activity as required. The designer will use available resources to complete assigned tasks and resolve issues. Specific tasks include: 2D and 3D design support, creating and processing engineering changes, Creating and maintaining engineering bills of material and analyzing part data to determine and implement product improvements, cost reductions, and product rationalizations.


  • Design new components, connectors, connector accessories and cable assemblies as required to support new or existing customer requirements.

  • Produce and maintain accurate models, component and assembly drawings utilizing Creo/ProE.

  • Perform necessary tolerance analysis and dimensional checks of designs.

  • Revise existing models and drawings as required to support engineering change activity.

  • Assign part numbers and create bills of materials (BOMs) as required to support product release activity.

  • Create process and coordinate engineering change requests in support of engineering team as required.

  • Work closely with engineering team supporting various project activity as assigned.


  • A completed Associate’s Degree in related curriculum such as Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or Design with three to five years of related experience-preferred. A minimum of a high school diploma required with five to eight years of related experience.

  • Proficient in Creo/ProE: part, assembly and drawing experience required.

  • Working knowledge and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

  • Knowledge of product life cycle management tools and principles.

  • Excellent problem solving abilities and a creative thinker.

  • Excellent communication skills and works well in a team environment.

  • Injection molding and metal stamping experience preferred.

  • Individual must be a self-starter who operates with general supervision, has strong planning skills, and can deal with and balance multiple priorities.

  • ERP experience is a plus, SAP preferred.
