Quality Engineer is responsible for
quality technologies and processes which support site manufacturing operations
and business unit quality objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Review all documentation related to product quality such as product drawings and changes, process procedures and standard work, procurement documents and approve as appropriate to ensure product and process conformance.
Develop and write quality plans, procedures, and assist in defining testing/validation plans for new or revised products. Identify/correct training deficiencies that affect the site's ability to produce quality products.
Respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and formal complaints providing immediate containment actions along with permanent corrective and preventive actions developed jointly by appropriate cross-functional problem solving teams.
Coordinate disposition of non-conforming material identified during manufacture and as returned from customers.
Serve as liaison with internal and external suppliers to facilitate corrective actions and continuous improvement to meet site quality and on time delivery goals.
Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; make recommendations.
Audit quality management system to assure effectiveness and compliance to all corporate and local policies, as well as to national and international standards and legislation. Develop, recommend, and implement changes and/or improvements as needed based on evaluation.
Develop and improve Quality Management System, production processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standards (ISO/TL9000/TPR9404) and facilitate product conformance to requirements.
Work with value stream team to create an environment of prevention rather than detection and reducing process / product variability.

Related Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related curriculum such as Engineering or a Technical Discipline from an accredited university with 2 - 5 Years of related experience.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline preferred
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills
Able to lead, influence and drive results inactivities involving cross-functional teams
2-5 years experience in a manufacturing Quality
Engineering or equivalent role
Strong problem solving skills and ability to develop
solutions to problems of diverse scope
Working knowledge of basic and advanced Quality tools such as: TQM, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, DMAIC Methodology, Poke Yoke, Kaizen, LEAN Manufacturing, etc.
Audit experience, knowledge of ISO 9001: 2008 and TL 9000 preferred
Willing to travel to suppliers and customers in North America as required.
CQE certification, Six Sigma experience a plus.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft office suite and statistical software such as Minitab required; SAP experience a plus.
