We are currently looking for a RF Electrical Engineer-R&D to join our team in Greensboro, NC.
Electrical Engineer position in the Copper Systems R&D Engineering Team responsible for developing telecommunication Ethernet products. Includes leading the design effort and adherence to the Product
Development Process to support the release of new copper apparatus products as well as driving cost reductions and improvements on existing product lines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Conceives and develops designs for copper connectors and apparatus products.
Gains knowledge of industry standards and works closely with Product Line Managers to understand product requirements and ensure designs meet customer and market needs.
Acts as a key contributor and/or technical leader within a project team.
Applies engineering principles, practices, and follows development execution procedures to take a design through the product development life cycle.
Participate in peer reviews, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions to mitigate risk and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Accountability / Impact of Job:
Accountable for developing global telecommunication Ethernet products used by a wide variety of customers.
Project work is reviewed at appropriate milestones to ensure the overall objectives are being met.
Business unit performance metrics include adherence to committed project schedules and achieving annual cost savings objectives.
A completed Bachelor’s Degree in related curriculum such as Electrical Engineering with 8 – 12 years of related experience.
Experience in signal transmission design from concept to production release a must.
Self-starter that requires only general supervision, having the ability to generate innovative designs, with engineering discipline and attention to detail, striving for flawless execution.
Proficiency in FAE analysis (ANSYS HFSS) and use of related analytical tools.
Knowledge of PCB design layouts for optimum signal transmission integrity.
Able to effectively collaborate with departmental and/or cross-functional personnel.
Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
Standards as related to Telecommunications a plus.
Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Design tools a plus.
