General Summary

Manage Human Resource functions by providing innovative, practical, and strategic human resource solutions that support the overall mission and goals of the business unit/location. This includes hourly and salaried nonexempt employee recruitment and staffing, personnel policy administration, wage and benefit programs, communications programs, and employee relations activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate selection, promotion and placement of hourly and salaried non-exempt personnel. Also provide support as necessary for salaried exempt recruitment under the guidance of the corporate recruitment department.

  • Develop and deliver employee indoctrination and orientation programs.

  • Develop programs, policies, procedures and controls regarding employment and analyzes turnover and other personnel statistics.

  • Provide guidance and training to site supervisors and managers including policy interpretation and application and assistance with various employee relations issues.

  • Develop, direct and administer wage administration programs.

  • Maintain a favorable employee relations climate by counseling and advising employees, developing and administering various employee relations activities, and promoting communications between employees and management.

  • Conduct research into personnel programs and activities and recommend changes or innovations where desirable.

  • Supervises the Training and Education Manager and provides overall direction to ensure effective training of site personnel.

  • Administer company benefit programs.

  • Conduct research and investigations into wrong doing and make recommendations to upper management, internal legal counsel and senior HR.

  • Provide guidance and coordination of workforce reductions and job elimination activities as necessary.

  • Managerial/Supervisory Responsibility: Recruit, select, manage and develop HR staff, if applicable. Make decisions regarding hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, discipline, and any other changes of employee status.

  • The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and development of HR within the company

  • A true hands-on approach with generalist topics like talent management, compensation, employee engagement, development, employee relations, retention & reward programs, HR analytics, and communication

  • The ability to be comfortable with high-volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves”

  • Key strengths of flexibility, fantastic communication skills, and huge amounts of drive

  • A passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement

  • A proclivity towards critical thinking (like identifying problems and driving appropriate solutions) and a history of being solutions-focused

  • Comfort in working in an environment which demands robust deliverables

  • Strong focus on internal and external customer service

  • An aptitude for managing multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results

  • SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related curriculum and 8+ years of related experience is required.

  • Related experience consists of experience as an HR supervisor or manager with HR generalist responsibilities.

  • Must be bi-lingual and fluent in Spanish

  • Experience supporting hourly staff and salaried office worker client groups

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% (domestic & international)

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and a working knowledge of PC software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's Degree or MBA in HRM preferred

• Certification of SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred

• SAP experience a plus
