The Continuous Process Improvement Engineer is facilitator within a team. The role of which is to develop and implement a unified approach to Continuous Process Improvement in CommScope with the intent to deliver high quality products and services through Lean and efficient value add processes to the high standards held by CommScope.
It will be required to facilitate new methodologies and approaches so as to be able to resolve the natural wastes & inefficiencies that exist in an organization value stream(s).
It will be responsible for the Continuous Process Improvement within the site(s) and scope of business at said sites.
Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions):
Provide input into a living three-year Continuous Process Improvement strategy specific to their areas of responsibilities to help drive excellence across all products & process and align with the overall company Continuous Improvement Strategy, implementing industry best practices eg Lean Methodologies including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 6 Sigma etc. This strategy will incorporate the required elements of corporate, business unit, site with Customers (internal or external) and organizations such as Operations, Procurement, Supply Base, Quality, Planning, Finance etc.

Responsible for implementing Commscope Continuous Process Improvement with respect to 6 Sigma. Working with peers to identifying improvement opportunities from tools such as Statistical Process Control, provide support with training, leadership, and direct support.
Facilitate the creation of 6 Sigma Calendars and road maps for 12-18 month periods.
Lead and/or support collaborative cross-functional teams to deliver companywide 6 Sigma solutions incorporating best practices.
Lead and/or support corporate improvement projects, establishing benchmarks and best practices and aligning with overall business goals for areas on responsibility.
Responsible for training and education employees as is required to deliver Commscope Continuous Process Improvement.
Support the design of training modules within GLC.
Work with GLC and talent Management to maintain records of all training activities.
Training is considered 10% Class Room, 20% Mentoring & 70% on the job training. The 3 phases must be supported to ensure that employees master the skills required to deliver Continuous Improvement as and when required on an ongoing basis.
Responsible for facilitating the Commscope Continuous Process Improvement activities within the area and scope of responsibility.
Supporting timely management of the areas Continuous Improvement activities relative to a planned calendar.
Identify opportunities, and promoting change with the Management team.
Translate opportunities in to calendar driven Continuous Improvement activities.
Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
Oversee and manage budget associated with projects, ensuring adequate ROI on projects whilst delivering solutions within budget.
Have a basic knowledge of ergonomics, risk analysis and environmental aspects.
BS in industrial engineering or related four (4) year technical degree; actively pursuing an advanced degree;
Seven (7) to nine (9) years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment with an emphasis on manufacturing processes;
Must possess good oral/written communication skills; Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills are essential.
Requires the ability to regularly contact, influence and negotiate with both internal and external individuals on complex issues; and
Must be able to respond to inquiries and complaints with tact and diplomacy
Working knowledge of basic and advanced Continuous Improvement tools such as; Lean, TQM, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Poke Yoke, etc.
Ability to train and educate all levels of the organization.
Ability to lead project teams across departments
Ability to drive change where required.
