Job Description

Due to our continued growth and customer demand we are currently recruiting for a qualified Electrical Engineer III located in Richardson, TX .


  • Commscope Technologies LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer III to work in the Distributed Coverage and Capacity Solutions Department designing complex Radio Frequency (RF) coverage solutions for buildings, road tunnels, subways, and outdoor systems and complex capacity centric In-building solutions.

  • Performs Radio Frequency (RF)/Wireless engineering assignments including design, development, evaluation, modification and analysis techniques.

  • Performs initial evaluation of the customer requirements.

  • Engineers the respective solution, responds to proposal.

  • Conducts site surveys and prepares Radio Frequency (RF) link budgets.

  • Prepares technical documentation for submission.

  • Supports proposal and project activities including preparation of technical documentation for submissions.

  • Supports technical presentations and customer interface.

  • Responsible for execution of system/product commissioning and testing.

  • Performs coverage testing using TEMS, ISCAN, and similar testing tools.

  • Performs Commissioning and Optimization to systems using iBwave, propagation tools, and Spectrum analyzers. Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Develops own resources to solve problems and provides imaginative solutions to a variety of moderately complex problems.

  • Travel required 50-75% of time.

  • Local telecommuting permitted.


  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering and must possess 2 years RF experience on wireless cellular technologies and parameters or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years RF experience on wireless cellular technologies and parameters.

  • Must possess at least 4 of the following technical skills: (1) how wireless technologies LTE , GSM, UMTS, CDMA, iDEN work and function for Cellular systems; (2) Cellular RF parameters ( i.e SINR ,RSRP, RSCP , Ec/Io , etc) and their applications; (3) Public safety RF parameters ( i.e DAQ, BER , RSSI, etc ) and their applications; (4) RF Design and equipment for In-building Cellular Systems & Public Safety Systems; (5) Commissioning and optimization knowledge for In-building Cellular Systems & Public Safety Systems.

  • Requires: experience working on project teams consisting of departmental and/or cross-functional personnel; and ability to carry and/or move test equipment up to 25 to 50 pounds.

  • Travel required 50-75% of time.

  • Local telecommuting permitted.
