Performs all functions associated with material movement through the Distribution Center, including paperwork and record keeping. Operates powered order pickers, fork lifts, turret trucks, laser scanners, radio frequency radio terminals, etc. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Follows all DC procedures and demonstrates an understanding of DC standards and goals to achieve total Customer Satisfaction. Performs all functions accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for knowing and conforming to the CommScope Quality Policy.

Job Duties:

  • Loads and unloads trucks and interfaces with interplant trucking and common carriers.

  • Checks incoming product against documentation to verify accuracy, sorts product and prepares it for putaway.

  • Receives product into Move using barcode scanners and computer terminals.

  • Puts product away in available space by proper area/zone using order pickers, turret trucks, radio frequency terminals, and barcode scanners.

  • Picks product for customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests, using pick tickets.

  • Performs other putaway and pick duties, such as bin location audits, unit load and carton transfers, and replenishment to partials area.

  • Weigh counts or hand counts quantities needed to fill Customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests.

  • Performs packaging function by scanning pick tickets and tracking labels to receive packaging instructions. Weighs and labels cartons and delivers to the appropriate destination.

  • Performs special packaging, prints and applies special labeling as required by each customer.

  • Recognizes hazardous/flammable material and prepares for shipment per established procedures.

  • Prepares cartons and pallet loads for shipment by attaching proper shipment documentation as well as carrier required documentation.

  • Prepares unit load shipments with stretch-wrap or banding.

  • Generates manifests and bills of lading for each shipment and checks against actual carton count in staging area.

  • Contacts common carriers to arrange for pickup of shipments.

  • Loads and unloads cartons and totes to/from conveyor properly oriented for scanning.

  • Manages recycling of wooden pallets back to manufacturing and the disposal of damaged pallets.

  • Performs any related warehouse duties as directed such as trash removal, tote distribution, packaging supplies disbursement/replenishing, etc.

  • Understands and follows all safety, security, and emergency procedures

  • Submits suggestions to enhance performance through individual or team efforts.

  • Determines if product is damaged and requires audit or repackaging.

  • Manages packaging supplies, including pallets.

  • Presents any discrepancies to Supervisor, Area Leader or Team Lead.

  • Actively involved with the maintenance of current TEOA Star Level status and the achievement of the next status level.

  • Receives product in SAP.

Experience Required:

  • Warehouse experience, light computer skills, MHE

  • High School/G.E.D. education and 1 year of relevant experience as determined by the Supervisor, DC Operations.
