We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our team in Santa Teresa, NM. This will be a 3rd shift role with the hours of 11pm to 7pm Sunday thru Thursday. Also, this position will invoke covering 4th shift once a month. These hours are 8pm to 8am Friday thru Sunday.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the development, implementation and successful execution of the overall business plan for the product business unit, including supporting the growth of gross revenue and for ensuring that profitability meets corporate product fulfillment objectives. Achieves objectives by delegating authority to key supervisors in production, production control, methods, cost accounting, maintenance, and other related operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Define, recommend and execute manufacturing and distribution strategies and objectives; develop specific short-term and long-term plans together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.

  • Develop and recommend distribution policies and programs based on advanced knowledge of technology, business trends and labor policy.

  • Direct the manufacture and distribution of company products at lowest cost consistent with established specifications for quality and quantity.

  • Responsible for the specification, installation, maintenance and financial performance of all capital assets.

  • Recruit, interview, select, train, appraise, and discipline group of employees.

  • Direct preparation of cost estimates, manpower and facility requirements forecasts. Manage the level of working capital by establishing and maintaining inventory levels and controls for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to conform to approved budgets, forecasts, and required service levels.

  • Provide objectives and direct manufacturing and distribution staff using established performance management policies.

  • Provide training and development of employees to ensure continued improvement of organization performance and competitive position.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate policy for environmental standards and employee safety.

  • Communicate with senior management on all issues related to operation performance and employee relations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree in a business, technical, or related curriculum.

  • Must have demonstrated strong leadership ability, excellent communication skills, and ability to conduct training and coaching sessions with department employees, supervisors and managers.

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years operations or production management experience in a high volume continuous manufacturing operation. Must have strong analytical skills

  • Prefer experience in implementing Lean concepts in manufacturing

  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals preferred.
