We are currently recruiting for an for an opportunity located in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China.
Regional accountability of data management standards, processes, and governance by managing and developing regional business data management strategies, sustaining existing rules of data/process compliance, while providing required training and business understanding of corporate master data standards and practices. Through developing strategies for support personnel, field, process, tools and technologies, this position is to establish, manage and support one or more teams of data stewards supporting corporate data, processes and/or systems. This position will be required to interface seamlessly with departments across the company, functions and global sites to achieve deliverables and adoption efforts of the overall EDM (Enterprise Data Management) objectives on master data, value stream mapping, compliance, auditing and cost avoidance related to data and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Data Governance:
o Defines and advises on governance model selection and implementation strategy for the region.
o Accountable for helping design and implement a scalable data governance model for the region (area of assignment) that accommodates local requirements and also aligns with the enterprise model.
o Responsible for driving regional and local acceptance of enterprise data standards, as well as helping identify the local roles and processes required to successfully implement the models.
o Evaluates and continually helps revise the roadmap for data management within the region based upon business objectives, existing capabilities/programs, cultural considerations with an understanding of emerging corporate initiatives’ and technologies
o Ensures ongoing alignment of local data governance processes and standards with enterprise (global) and regional business process design(s).
o Coordinates the communication of key aspects of the data management program within the region/sector.
o Guides and champions the organization’s data management processes and programs by driving regional understanding and acceptance of data governance process design standards and policies.
o Works closely with both Enterprise and local projects to ensure key aspects of the enterprise and local data management programs are both understood, planned for, and ultimately implemented
o Assists (and sometimes direct) data management activities (e.g. data migrations, data application implementations, data process definitions, data metrics, etc. ...) for the region.
o Ensures project-based and ongoing data migration activities for the region follow a standard methodology (people and processes) and are reflective of enterprise and local data standards and requirements.
o Such tasks require collaboration with global, regional and local project teams in developing processes that support ERP systems and 3rd-party applications.
• Data Standards:
o Responsible for helping identify the need for local and regional data standards based on strategic business objectives and global / regional processes and then coordinating the establishment of those standards.
o Define, develop and refines rules and processes to support the data governance organization by identifying required capabilities, building skillsets and leveraging enterprise capabilities and resources.
o Works with the IT organization to implement robust scalable data rules sets and procedures to meet business goals of the organization
o Understand meta-data requirements across detail lines of business
o Implements a robust managed meta-data environment
o Develops and promotes data quality awareness
o Drive out data quality requirements using the data quality management cycle
o Understand business intelligence information needs
• Measurement / Metrics:
o Accountable for the establishment and collection of key master data metrics for the region (area of assignment) that will support both local and enterprise-level requirements. Responsible for ensuring measurement criteria accurately reflects local business processes and helps provide meaningful and actionable feedback regarding data impacts. Key activities also include strategic participation with the enterprise data management team in the selection and implementation of data management metrics; the collection of required information; and the communication of measurement results.
• People / Organizational Development:
o Coordinates the identification of data management roles and resources within the region (area of assignment) to ensure the data management organization (and key business partners) develops increased proficiencies within supported ERP systems, as well as other key technologies to support the data management model for the organization.
o Establishes and performs regular training of standards and programs to support the regional data users.
• Bachelor's degree in a related curriculum such as engineering, science or it and six years related experience.
• Experience defining and implementing delivery strategies for large and complex organizations (interfacing with global teams preferred) pertaining to data, process and procedural enterprise applications.
• Experience in establishing, implementing and leading enablement-user based methods of monitoring and tracking of data methods and practices
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance principles and concepts.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of large complex data and application integration concepts
• Demonstrates key administrative and leadership skills including excellent communication, analytical, decision making, ability to drive consensus and in line with that of a ‘self-starter’ who welcomes responsibility; encouraging and recognizing the contributions of others while challenging them to excel.
• Matrix management skills and business acumen
• Typically possesses 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience
• Force of character; visionary; ability to arbitrate on difficult decisions; diplomatic
• Master Data Management experience
• Project Management experience
• Knowledge of most of the key concepts around master data management, including data integration, data standards, data governance, data quality, and meta-data management
• Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of data organizations
• Cross-Functional/Cross-Company Working Experience
