Posting Position Title
Engineer II, RF
RF Engineer responsible for the development of new designs and cost optimization of the existing product for local manufacture. The candidate must be able to provide real time solutions to design issues discovered in the manufacturing process and recommend/document the resolution. Also must be knowledgeable in manufacturing processes and technologies in order to support factory and part evaluations.
Responsible for the design, development, evaluation and analysis, applying engineering principles for microwave components and/or antenna systems
Performs component level design and initial testing. Develops and executes product procedures for production testing and supports integration plans for new or updated products.
Test/evaluate competing products and technologies.
Investigates and trouble shooting on prototypes and stays current with RF/systems development. Researches new technologies.
Documents procedures/processes related to work for RF production testing.
Support Sales team and Product Line Management by assisting in the preparation of bids, proposals and Request for Quote for current and potential customers. Under the leadership of more senior engineers, develop technical solutions/product designs to serve customer requirements.
Prepare part specifications. Researches and evaluates potential vendors and makes recommendations as to the final vendor selection. Work closely with our R&D centers in UK, USA and China
RELATED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s in related curriculum such as RF/Telecommunications Engineering orMaster’s in related curriculum such as RF/ Telecommunications Engineering with
w/>3Years of Related Experience in an R+ D role designing RF components for antenna systems utilizing RF design software. Providing concepts, prototype design and test, and delivering high volume, cost effective parts with optimal performance for production.
Knowledge of typical manufacturing processes and designing parts to suit. Test support for production.
Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with RF design of reflector antenna systems and/or waveguide components such as transitions, OMTs and couplers at microwave frequencies
Design experience utilizing electromagnetic design software such as CST Studio Suite, HFSS, Quickwave or GRASP
Ability to set up and carry out S-parameter tests on various microwave components using Network Analyzers and creation of test fixtures to support high volume production
Excellent problem solving and communication skills to sufficiently understand customer requirements and deliver results that meet customer requirements
Proficient in English- Good verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills.
Self-motivated, creative and able to work independently.
Familiar with working with NPI and operations to move product from development to volume
Must Have’s/Good to Have’s from the Hiring Manager:
* Master degree in RF/Telecommunications Engineering is preferred
* Holding patents would be good to have criteria
