General Summary:

Engineering Quality Assurance team covers a variety of aspects related to design of new products and improvement and maintenance of existing ones. Moreover, it spans on all company processes, with the aim of studying all possible ways to simplify and strengthen them, often being part of larger teams.

It is a technical role that wants strong analytical/mathematical attitudes and methodic approach. It requires understanding customer requirements and delivering results that meet customer needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads six sigma improvement projects and maintain related documentation. Devises new approaches to problems. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Acts as a key contributor and/or technical leader within a project team.

  • Focuses on ensuring process capability, control and improvement by developing procedures and interpreting standards for defined product line or facility. Develops the application of tools, methods and systems to ensure continuous performance improvements, e.g. DMAIC approach to problem solving. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions

  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and protocol for processing materials into product. Devises methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and product equipment, participating to team activities on tools like FMEA, Dynamic Control Plan

  • Assists for problems related to materials and interface with SQE. Specifies and/or assesses inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment e.g. through Gage R&R statistical studies;

  • Prepare or evaluate reports of statistical analysis (e.g. Cpk process capability) to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Reviews and analyzes reports on quality non-conformities related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to determine responsibilities. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

  • Participates to definition of engineering changes and temporary deviations (needed tasks and roles), ensuring the integrity of Customer specifications and expectations and the product reliability

  • Prepares periodic reports, analyzing data and extracting negative trends that require attention or preventative action. Coordinates related actions.

  • Is capable and willing to have effective customer and supplier interactions and/or frequent inter-organization contacts.

Skill required:

  • Degree in technical field discipline with experience or Associate Degree with 7+ years professional experience with proven success track record, preferably in quality field

  • Sound mathematical and technical skills

  • Ability to think logically and methodically.

  • Ability to analyze information and provide fact-based recommendations.

  • Good investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with measurable results.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Italian mother tongue and fluent English.

  • Decision making ability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Knowledge of statistical packages preferred; Microsoft Office systems required.

  • Six sigma/lean knowledge, black or green belt certification preferred.

  • Must be able to occasionally travel globally.
