This new position, reporting to the Finance Shared Service Manager will play an important role in supporting our 2 South African Companies within the CommScope group.
The content of the role will include general accounting, planning, analytical and presentation work which will require an ability to work independently as well as part of a wider finance team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Journals entries, calculation of prepayments and accruals.
Inventory analysis and reserve calculations.
Balance sheet reconciliations.
Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable oversight and management.
Income statement trend and expense analysis.
Fixed Asset accounting and control.
Completion and submission of Bi-monthly VAT Returns & quarterly VAT returns.
Foreign Exchange impact analysis on expense reporting.
Audit support and work with the Compliance Accountant in the Statutory audits of both South African entities.
Global project work and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Candidates should ideally be a part qualified accountant with proven technical ability – ACCA, CIMA, CAI ,
SAP FI knowledge is desirable.
Excellent MS Office skills, Excel, Word and PowerPoint are essential.
A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience is required.
Strong organisational skills and/or project management skills are also desirable.
Ability to take ownership and be proactive to achieve desired results.
Candidates should display good interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to work well as part of a team and interact at all levels in the business.
The ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines is also required.
International accounting experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Experience of working in a manufacturing and/or technology company would be highly advantageous, but not essential.
