CommScope, Inc. Commercial Attorney in Bray, Ireland
Under the direction of CommScope’s Regional Attorney in EMEA, provide legal counsel, advice and guidance for the Company’s designated commercial operations in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Region. This role will be based in Madrid, Spain.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide (or manage the provision of) legal counsel, advice and guidance on all types of commercial legal matters to the Company’s designated business units in EMEA, as directed, to insure maximum protection of the company’s legal rights, mitigation of legal risks, and continued legal compliance for the Company’s operations.
Promote efficient and effective dispute resolution of potential and actual commercial disputes.
Develop innovative and pragmatic approaches to complex legal challenges and provide concise and business-focused legal advice
Negotiate and draft contracts and corporate documents that promote business objectives.
Identify and assist in identification of corporate and transactional structures that are favorable to the Company.
Assist in implementing Company policies related to internal requirements for contract approvals.
Assist in developing policies and procedures and standard contract templates designed to ensure sound contracting practices and commercial activity consistent with the Company’s overall business objectives, and assist in efforts to ensure that these templates, policies and procedures are communicated effectively throughout the Company through training and other methods.
Maintain records and files of legal department for matters handled.
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Law or related discipline
3+ years of post-qualification experience ideally with a combination of in-house and private practice experience.
Solicitor qualified to practice in the Spanish jurisdiction.
Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.
Excellent drafting skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent presentation & public speaking skills are required.
Strong organizational and negotiation skills are required.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
Willingness to travel within EMEA as required.
Proficiency in Spanish or another European language is highly desirable.
Familiarity of working on cross-jurisdictional issues within a multi-national environment is an advantage.
