As the Chief of Staff /Special Projects, you will support the CIO and the IT leadership team effectively accomplish goals and support initiatives in alignment with the overall strategic plan of the IT Business Function. You will be accountable for planning, supervising, and facilitating support services and programs in forwarding the IT goals and priorities. The position will develop and implement programs within organizational policies, and report activities to the executive level through meetings and reports. This individual will be responsible for leading special projects, coordinating IT communications to include staff meetings, all hand meetings, blogs; and assisting with budget planning and tracking.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the flow of issues requiring either short-term responses or anticipatory preparations, and maintaining close liaison and coordination with all business partners and IT.
Define, convene, and coordinate teams addressing issues that require intensive short-term efforts for response to both external and internal constituencies.
Perform research on issues of importance to the CIO and follow up to implement the CIO’s decisions
Assist the CIO with the logistics and preparations for local, regional and national meetings.
Draft written materials, speeches, remarks, talking points and for the CIO's use in speaking engagements on company and with external constituents.
Develop and manage processes to deal with IT-related contracts, IT policies, IT security, data governance, IT decision-making, CIO communication. The IT organization's primary negotiator, project leader and management of all special projects.
Helps develop goals, and objectives for IT Business Function to facilitate the business plan.
Tracks progression of special projects and provides feedback to the IT executive team on progress.
Establishes operating standards and provides data analysis and Metrics to track team progress on their day to day operations.
Monitors department budgets and ensure alignment with strategic plans, and keep the organization on budget.
Prepares reports and presentations for all activities related to all programs and projects for the IT executive staffing relations to projects, company progress and personnel-related issues.
Education & Required Skills
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years related experience.
2+ years of project management experience preferred
Solid leadership skills
Team builder, with the ability to develop and coordinate a group of professionals while maintaining production
Familiarity with IT solution delivery processes necessary
Demonstrated ability to recommend strategies for accomplishing strategic legislative objectives.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and demonstrated analytical abilities.
Experience with organizational effectiveness and change management including skills in persuasion, communication and presentation, and collaboration.
Demonstrated the ability to manage a complex process and make process
Ability to demonstrate strong skills in building relationships, negotiating difficult situation, strategic thinking and managing governance process.
Master's or other advanced degree in a related field
Proficient in Microsoft Project
