Due to growth and customer demand, we are currently recruiting for a Director of Employee Communications to join our team in Hickory, NC.
Direct global employee communications for CommScope. Lead development and implementation of strategic employee communications programs to support the mission and business objectives of CommScope through a more informed, engaged and aligned workforce. Develop an effective strategy for sharing our corporate voice with employees and helping bring our company brand to life for our global workforce. Actively support change management efforts through company-wide employee communications, across existing and new channels that include new and emerging technologies. Lead development of digital and social channels to reach employees and establish ongoing two-way dialogues with their peers and management. Support planning and implementation of new community involvement program that will recognize employee volunteerism and create ways for CommScope’s people around the world to support charitable causes with their time and funds.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Lead, manage and develop corporate employee communications, and oversee day-to-day direction of employee communications function.
Provide counsel, guidance and tools to managers and senior leadership as to best practices in communicating with employees to elevate productivity, performance and pride.
Skillfully partner with corporate executives in providing counsel and guidance on employee communications issues.
Develop strategies, processes and procedures for more effective communications to meet the corporate information needs and expectations of leaders and employees.
Play a key role in company’s effort to elevate employee engagement, including identifying and implementing communications opportunities to connect leadership with employees.
Collaborate with the employee communications manager to plan and develop written and visual content for all internal channels in a manner that is timely, high impact and high quality.
Offer creative, compelling communications solutions and campaigns to support internal projects designed to change employee behavior and results.
Align goals/activities with the company priorities as it relates to talent, corporate brand and company culture, leveraging close relationships and collaboration with HR, brand and senior leadership.
Leverage innovative technology and digital solutions to create engaging employee experiences and extend our reach to employees through additional channels, including internal social media, multimedia and digital signage.
Head planning and execution of United Way employee campaigns, and support establishment and operation of CommScope’s formal community involvement program.
Develop strategy for measuring effectiveness of employee communications program and its impact on employees, while identifying areas for improvement.
Develop and introduce best practices to improve how company information flows to and from employees.
A completed Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 10 years related experience, including 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
Demonstrated skills and results in developing, managing and delivering employee communications and engagement programs in a large, complex corporate environment.
Expertise in communications concepts, practices, strategies and technologies is necessary.
Exceptional written, oral, listening and presentation skills.
Interpersonal and organizational savviness to collaborate and relate openly and comfortably with people at all levels and from various disciplines and cultures.
Successful track record in using creative and effective communications to elevate employee engagement is required.
Knowledge of change management principles.
Superior management skills, including the ability to influence and engage team members and peers.
Experience in supporting international, multi-location companies highly preferred.
Innovative thinker and communicator, with demonstrated ability to convert technical, complex topics into easy-to-understand messaging.
Strategic mind-set, with big-picture thinking that imagines future scenarios and creates strategies that sustains a competitive advantage.
Effectively build and sustain formal and informal relationship networks throughout the organization to enhance idea generation, resource sharing and general know-how.
Ability and desire to be a top-notch individual contributor and a senior leader.
Experience with community involvement campaigns and social media technologies and channels is highly preferred.
