Due to our continued growth and customer demand, we are currently recruiting for a Product Manager located in Richardson, Texas.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Product Manager sets and drives the product strategy. The individual must be a self-starter capable of working on his/her own initiative, but within the limits of the product line objectives and strategies set forth by the Business Unit leadership team. The individual will also understand telecommunication architectures, product management, and marketing skills, and will also be entrepreneurial in nature.

The position requires the individual to function effectively in a team environment, providing both vision and leadership. The individual must successfully develop relationships both within the company and externally with customers and suppliers. The individual will also efficiently coordinate the resources of the company, including sales, R&D, manufacturing, engineering, and finance to meet the customers requirements consistently. Domestic travel will be required.

Responsibilities include product management, new product development, pricing, profitability, strategy and marketing of portions of the Inside Plant Copper Apparatus product line. Incumbent has cross-functional responsibility working with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Distribution Channels. The Product Manager will also be responsible for developing key business plans with a 3-5 year outlook.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Responsible for the launch of new products, including defining requirements for engineering, establishing pricing and marketing collateral and ensuring a successful handoff to manufacturing.

Manage existing product lines including pricing, discounting, distribution strategies and quality reports.

Manage the product life cycle.

  • Identify and vet new product concepts, and both research and document the business case for new product developments, including market and competitive analysis.

Shared accountability for the product line’s P&L, including: revenue attainment, gross margin and operating income.

  • Responsible for providing expertise and maintaining product evaluations on competitive product offers.

Supports sales and marketing efforts by leading research of market opportunities and competitors with existing product line in assigned markets.

  • Define and execute the product line’ s 3-5 year strategy with input from key stakeholders.

identify new and/or growth market segments and associated product opportunities, as potential areas of investment, around the world. Document plans to address these opportunities.

  • Actively participate in “ thought leadership” activities, such as publication, industry and customer presentations, tradeshow activities, as well as social networking and blogging opportunities, designed to enhance the market perspective of CommScope and the Enterprise Business.

  • Manage and develop sales and marketing presentations where additional technical expertise is required on specific solutions, applications, architectures, or assigned markets.

  • Responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of training related content to Sales, Customers, and Business Partners.

Responsible for assisting application engineers in development and maintenance of application guides, data/spec sheets, and training material for copper products.

  • Support Global Sales calls, quotes, bid preparations, contract negotiations and product code loads.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree required. Prefer a Business or a technical degree

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Engineering preferred.

  • Knowledge of copper products, process, manufacturing, or applications knowledge is preferred.

  • The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, work well in team situations, and will be proficient with personal computers including spreadsheets, graphics, and word processing.
