Job Title : Planner II
General Summary : Under direct supervision, is responsible for setting and changing daily production schedules that maximize output of established priorities.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Establishes daily work priorities/schedules within the PBU’s work centers or between departments to expedite production. Modifies priorities/schedules according to work order specifications, availability of labor, materials, parts, machines and equipment. Interfaces with Work Coordinators, Operations Supervisors and other Planners to execute these schedules.
Ensures all orders are shipped on schedule and as economically as possible. Provides input to management to reschedule shipments in cases of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs and customer readiness issues. Monitors forward load reports and schedules to recommend overtime and staffing levels for work centers.
Releases orders to various operational groups and/or vendors to maintain production flow to meet customer request dates. Staying within Corporate Procurement Agreements, works with vendors to ensure the best possible delivery dates and shipment routes are secured.
Reviews stock records and material requirements to determine if on-hand materials are sufficient to complete production orders on schedule. Resolves problems with inventory or material shortages through review of SAP system and transaction documentation. Takes action in SAP as a result of Engineering Change Notices, scrap, etc., and adjusts pending work orders and inventory accordingly.
Generates reports concerning the status of current production and material deficiencies.
Qualification : Bachelor’s in related curriculum such as Engineering/Materials Graduates/operational management
Experience : Minimum 5 Years of Related Experience in production/material planning or other work equivalency in a manufacturing/production environment.
Demonstrate competencies of physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of production control systems, specifically SAP preferred.
Demonstrate ability to effectively interact and influence personnel of various levels and disciplines
Will be required to participate in activities that require frequent time spent on the manufacturing floor and occasionally working outdoors
